HAYE AFRAID OF KLITSCHKOS – HARRISON

By NBF News

Audley Harrison has vacated his European heavyweight title to open the door for a world title fight with David Haye in October, calling out his fellow Englishman for 'running away' from the Klitschko brothers.

Harrison is recovering from an operation to a damaged pectoral, an injury which forced him to fight one-handed until his knockout win against Michael Sprott in their European title fight in April.

The 2000 Olympic champion has had an up-and-down career over the past 10 years, but his win against Sprott thrust him back in the limelight and, aged 38, has a number of options available to him when he returns.

He laid down the gauntlet to fellow Londoner Haye, while insisting he would take on either of Wladimir or Vitali Klitschko.

'I'm told by my promoters that both David Haye and the Klitschko brothers have expressed an interest in facing me when I return after rehab,' said Harrison.

'If it's either Klitschko brother, the task will be hard, but that's how I want it. I respect both brothers as they are effective at what they do but both can be beat.'

'As I said before David Haye is a false prophet, one punch on that chin and it will shatter like glass. If I were him, I'd keep running from the Klitschkos and keep beating up on shop-worn American heavyweights.

'Whatever the route I will find a way to fulfil my destiny and become heavyweight champion of the world.'

Promoter Eddie Hearn said, 'Everyone wants to fight Audley because they know what he brings to the table.'
