JOSSY LAD, OWOLABI HAIL 3SC

Chairman of the newly constituted board of the Shooting Stars Sports Club, Jossy Lad, and ex-international, Felix Owolabi, have praised the team for beating Warri Wolves in their Globacom Premier League game in Ibadan on Sunday.

The match became crucial to the team after its 2-1 defeat to Heartland of Owerri in their Week 33 game put 3SC in danger of relegation but the result on Sunday has lifted the outfit in the table.

Lad said, 'It was a match that brought out the best of both teams. I have no complain about the officiating as the referee did well to control the players. Wolves' equaliser was a perfect goal but I praise the players for their response and the victory. The margin would have been higher but the three points was so important to us. Coach Fatai Amoo has done well by improving the confidence of the players, which is important for team success. It was the kind of a match where we have dropped vital points in the past.'

Owolabi said the board would not rest until the club escaped relegation.

He said, 'We have a big job on our hands and it will be a shame if this club does not return to where it belongs. In Africa, 3SC has a place among the great clubs before it went down. We are in the process of bringing it back and the remaining matches in the season are crucial to the club's survival. Beating Wolves has given us hope we can still finish the season above relegation zone.'
