THE COMMUNION TABLE

By NBF News

When an illness which ordinarily should have been cured by simple medication persists it ceases to be ordinary. You then tackle it from spiritual angle.

It can be through laying on of hands, application of the anointing oil, deliverance sessions, or you take the matter to the Holy Communion table of a good bible believing church. This is the meal which makes your oppressors to give up on you. A senior pastor and I once rushed a piece of holy communion bread to a terminally ill professional friend of ours at the general hospital. The fellow whom doctors had given up on ate the meal and is back on his feet.

The Holy Communion meal is one meal that forces sickness and tormentors to give up on you. It is not a snack/ mineral drink affair in the church.

'And the Egyptians were urgent upon the people that they might send them out of the land in haste; for they said we be all dead men'.

After the children of Israel took the Passover meal their captors were 'urgent' in letting them go into freedom. The enemies who had enslaved them for 430 years could not keep them a second longer after the Passover meal. As you take the holy communion the enemy/ sickness that had kept you bound will give up on you in Jesus name.

It is your uncommon meal with uncommon power. We learnt that after the meal 'He brought them forth also with silver and gold and there was not one feeble person among their tribe Psm. (105:37). God can cast favour on you as He did to the children of Israel who left Egypt richer. Approach the Holy Communion table from the angle of your trouble. I can see someone gaining financial freedom.

'For my flesh is meat indeed and my blood is drink indeed. He that eateth my flesh and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me and I in him'. John 6:26-56.

The bible tells us that the Israelites - a whole nation in Egypt ate this meal and they were healed. They became strong enough to withstand the 40 years sojourn in the desert. It is a meal that makes the spiritually weak strong. Drink the wine in faith. It represents the blood of Jesus and the bread which is His flesh releases the spirit of God which quickeneth your mortal body to reject sickness and strengthen you to become another man.

'But if the spirit of Him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by His Spirit that dwelleth in you' (Rm. 8:11) to set you free from sickness. Inexplicable illness that have defied solution are often dealt with at the Holy Communion table.
