Okowa's Victory Has Strengthened The Unity In Delta State—Osanebi

THE Deputy Speaker, Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Friday Ossai Osanebi said today that the victory of the People's Democratic Party, ( PDP) in the last governorship election has strengthen the love and unity within ethno-political lines of Delta State.

Addressing newsmen at the civic reception in honour of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa in Oghara township stadium, Ethiope West Local Government Area, the Deputy Speaker again thanked Deltans for massively voting for all the PDP candidates during the last elections, and ascribed the love and unity in the state to the victory of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa.

"Okowa is a symbol of unity, and with him leading the state in the last general election, was the secret of the resounding victory of the PDP in the general elections. Governor Okowa as a person is meek, sincere and loved by many" Osanebi said.

The Deputy Speaker described the present oneness existing in the state as commendable and unprecedented, as he revealed that Deltans have a sincere governor, loved by all.

He further reiterated that the victory of Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa has eliminated all form of factions and rancor that could result from elections and Delta State is as a result, peaceful.

"Okowa is a product of circumstances. He emerged through difficult struggle, yet no violence. Against all odds, majority of his opponents at the primaries left the trenches, jettisoned all form of bitterness and worked with him to ensure a resounding victory. This demonstrated another dimension of unity and love that exits in the party". He said.

He further noted that Sen. Dr. Okowa's victory was a stabilizing factor, within the party and the state at large. "unlike before now, were there could be irreconcilable issues within the party as far as governorship ticket is concerned. So far, Dr Okowa has shown the capacity to integrate to a great extent diverse political interests and groups, and this has led to the overall peace and unity in Delta State today". Osanebi added.

He called on Deltans to fully support the prosperity agenda of Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, saying that the state is transforming speedily, irrespective of the economic challenges, and indeed property has come to stay in Delta State.
