Acting Chairman, Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Amina Zakari has called on political parties to ensure they are guided by the code of conduct in their activities.

has call on the newly elected National Executives of the Inter-party Advisory Council (IPAC) to play its part in ensuring that the code of conduct for the Political Parties continues to guide the behaviour and Conduct of Political Parties in the country.

Acting INEC Chairman said this at the at the Inauguration ceremony for the newly elected National Executives of the Inter-party Advisory Council (IPA ) in Abuja, urged them to bury their grievances and continue to work together as a united body

There has been series of disagreement in IPAC over the last General election.

"This is not unexpected in any competitive election anywhere in the world. To me,the controversies are indications of the relevance of IPAC by the political parties themselves".

"The Commission has looked into the petitions and counter petitions arising from elections and is inclined to agree with the processes and outcome of the elections,so we are here to inaugurate the new Executives that emerged from the elections held on 24th of July,2015".

"Hereby call on IPAC Executives to continue to support the activities of the Commission, as the Commission alone cannot pilot the political process without the cooperation of other stakeholders like IPAC.

"As Kogi and Bayelsa Governorship Elections are round the corner,we therefore solicit for the continue support of IPAC in the various programmes slated for the successful conduct of these elections.

"The CVR is slated for september 2nd - 7th September,2015 in two states. the Commission look forward to extensive mobilization of all those who are eligible but not yet in the voter register to seize this opportunity to register," she said.

Zakari also express its commission's appreciation to UNDP,IRI,IFES,NIPSS and other development partners for their continued support and cooperation to IPAC towards the achievement of its noble ideals.
