Senate President And Others Condole Gov. Shettima

The Senate President Abubakar Bukola Saraki, Speaker House of Representatives and other Members of the National assembly on Monday paid condolence on Governor Kashim Shettima of Borno state over the demise of his Deputy Alhaji Zanna Umar Mustapha who passed away early Saturday in Yola.

Chairman of the North East Caucuses at the National Assembly ,Senator Mohammed Danjuma Goje who led other Senators and Members of House of Representatives to Maiduguri said they were in the state on behalf of the Senate President and Honourable Speaker who are out of the country to condolence the Governor and the people of Borno State over the irreparable loss.

They described the death of the Deputy Governor as a greet loss to the state, north east and country at large pointing out that late Zanna Umar Mustapha was a committed and patriotic citizen who catered for the IDPs as well as a passion for the Development of the Northeast Sub Region and Borno in particular.

He noted that late zanna Umar Mustapha was very dedicated and loyal to his boss and prayed that the governor will find a competent replacement to fill in the vacuum created by his death.

Senator Danjuma also said that the late Deputy Governor was a detribalized and humane person and lamented that the country and APC as a party has lost a flamboyant politician.

Responding Governor Kashim Shettima described the late Deputy Governor as a very loyal and dedicated person and his death is agreat loss to the state, north east and Nigeria stressing that the vacuum will be difficult to fill.

Shettima said he is still in shock and sometime feel as if Zanna is not Dead because his death came to him and to many people as a shocking surprise pointing out that death awaits everybody as from Allah we come and to Allah we shall all return.

The APC National Leaders, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed and former Interim APC National Chairman Chief Bisi Akande as well as the National APC Vice Chairman South West Chief Akinola were also in Maiduguri to condole the people and government of Borno state over the death of the Deputy Governor.

Other dignitaries who paid condolences include the Governors of Gombe State Alhaji Ibrahim Hassan DanKwambo, Governor Ibrahim Gaidam of Yobe State, , Governor Abdullahi Ganjude who was represented by his Deputy Professor Hafis Abdullahi, Emir of Damaturu HRH Alhaji Hashimi Umar Al Amin El Kanemi, Vice Chancellor University of Maiduguri Professor Abubakar Njodi , Alhaji Adamu Maina Waziri from Yobe and NYSC State Coordinator Borno state Alhaji Lawal Turawa.
