Why The Spoilers Cannot Stop The Ijaw Dream In Bayelsa

Seven people to my estimation has done so much to make Bayelsa State realize the dreams of its founding fathers. Unless I am corrected,The first is Chief Okorotie, and other prominent Ijaw sons who was one of the initiators of the idea. Then backed by the first Military Governor of Rivers State Chief Diette Spiff and the old Rivers Civilian Governor Melford Okilo. Then a foremost architect put it into concrete form in the Yenagoa Masterplan. The then Governor General of Ijaw nation,a man so much loved by his people Chief Alamieyeseigha put it into concrete form and built the state until then Governor Goodluck Jonathan expanded the vision and modernized it into a glory of all land.

Governor Sylva had a good chance of realizing the Goodluck Jonathan dreams but it was not exactly the way he wanted things to go but at the end neither was achieved so Governor Dickson was picked by all the elders to restore the original concept before it dies out,and so restoration became the way of all the past leaders to atone for the time not best put into use.

The arrow head of the elders was King Turner and the Green Movement in PDP. So all these leaders came together to adopt PDP as their party to pursue this dream while the climate was still favorable. Governor Dickson aware that much needed to be achieved discarded all sweetness of politics in directing diminishing resources to these pivotal projects that would change ijawland forever and diversify the economy outside dependence on mono product oil. The plan succeeded but it left a political burden which all the living amongst these elders should help carry since Governor Dickson has never stood alone in his actions. He has always consulted at every step with the people he referred to as his leaders. Now I have seen Chief Okorotie come out to defend the Governor.

I have also seen King Turner defend him. I have seen President Jonathan publicly defend the governor as the one he is working with. Yes even if the presidential election loss changed a few things it is not expected to change the only tangible and stabilizing factor in the Ijaw dream for that would be indeed a big set back for the party and in deed the nation. I have seen the first military Governor of the old Rivers State King Diette Spiff bring his wisdom to bear and defend the Restoration agenda .

Unfortunately those latecomers, the stomach part finders who are responsible for the hardship in the state in order to prove their wretched stomach political theory amongst their kinsmen;those who in no way are remotely connected to the origin of this beautiful dream are now the ones pulling almost blindly the Golden Cart apart, the same people who if they had been alive or in position,or capable would have preferred to lead a protest to stay back in "bondage"of the old Rivers State .

These are the people now championing what they cannot possibly explain, attempting to set back for another decade a dream that is nearing reality under the Watch of former President Jonathan and now currently under the watch of Governor Seriake Dickson. Happily this unholy attempt to pull back the hands of the clock has failed.
