Eid-Ul-fitr: Hon Atunwa Congratulates Muslims

On the completion of the holy month of Ramadan, the lawmaker representing Asa/Ilorin Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives, Barr. Razak Atunwa has congratulated Muslims across the country and urged them to sustain the virtues learned and demonstrated during the month of Ramadan.

Hon. Atunwa, who is a former Speaker of the Kwara State Assembly made this known in a statement signed by his Special Assistant on Media, Olawale Rotimi. In his message, Atunwa congratulated Muslims celebrating Eid-ul-Fitr. "As Muslims mark the end of the month of Ramadan, they are reminded that Ramadan is a time to reflect spiritually, exercise self denial and extend help to the underprivileged. While Eid marks the end of Ramadan, I congratulate Muslims across the country, this marks a new beginning for each individual, a reason to reflect and express gratitude" he said.

"As Muslims worldwide have committed themselves during the month of Ramadan, to honor the faith through self denial and reaching out to the underprivileged through kindness, charity and selflessness, I encourage us to allow this virtues transcend the month of Ramadan, by making selflessness and a sacrifice a way of life which are so important in galvanizing unity, religious and social understanding, fairness, peace and stability in our country" Atunwa added.

Further speaking, Atunwa said "as Muslims and non Muslims observe the holiday, this gives us the opportunity as a people to know the importance of respecting those of all faiths and beliefs by acknowledging our great diversity and live in unity as a key way of adding to the treasures of our nation. I urge us all to lead efforts for greater understanding and unity across diverse communities in the country".
