Operatives of the X Squad Unit, Lagos State Police command are currently investigating Hakeem Bello, the estranged in-law of former president, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, over alleged engagement of military personnel to settle scores and false alarm of threat to life.

Hakeem who was married to Senator Iyabo Obasanjo was seen at the Lagos State police command last week Friday where he was reportedly quizzed following a petition written by one Mr. Sumonu Olalekan to the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Kayode Aderanti, allegeding that Mr Hakeem Bello brought military personnel to his property and destroyed it and also gave police false information that he is threatening his life among others.

Vanguard learned that the commissioner of police charged X-Squad to investigate the case and Hakeem Bello was subsequently invited to appear before the Police to defend himself on June 12, 2015, but Mr. Bello did not honour the invitation on that day as he sent a lawyer and his co-accused, one Idowu Adedoyin to honour the invitation.

Vanguard gathered that when Hakeem Bello eventually reported to the police on Wednesday, June 17, he admitted using the military personnel, adding that he used them to protect the people working for him as Sumonu Olalekan and others were disturbing his workers.

He also told the police that he bought the land from one Dr Victor Olaiya and tendered some documents to back up his claim.

Sumonu Olalekan, however, told the police that Mr. Bello had earlier written a petition to the Area G police command and SARS Ikeja where he allegedly wrongly informed the police that he threatened his life and that he was an armed robber which led to his arrest on several occasions.
