SAN FRANCISCO, June 16, (THEWILL) –  Investigators at the headquarters of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Tuesday interrogated the immediate past Governor of Ebonyi State, Mr. Martin Elechi, over allegations of graft.

Elechi, who was invited earlier by the EFCC, arrived at the commission's Abuja facility at about 10.am.

A source told state new agency NAN, that the EFCC had on January 29, 2015, also invited the former governor's son, Nnanna Elechi, for interrogation.

The former governor, who left office on May 29, after a second term in office, could not face the anti-graft agency earlier since he had constitutional immunity against prosecution.

Mr. Wilson Uwujaren, the spokesman of EFCC, confirmed that Elechi was interrogated but declined to give further details.
