Supreme Court Stops National Assembly From Amending Constitution

BEVERLY HILLS, May 07, (THEWILL) – The Supreme Court Thursday stopped the National Assembly from taking further action towards amending the 1999 Constitution.

A seven-man panel of Justices, led by the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Mahmud Mohammed ordered the National Assembly to maintain status quo on the matter until June 18 when it comes up for hearing.
