Outgoing President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has said despite numerouschallenges, Nigeria is indeed moving forward.President Jonathan in an Easter celebration message to Nigerians urged allto be prepared to make sacrifices for the greater unity, politicalstability and progress of the country.He said having scaled through the hurdles of the Presidential election,the President urge all to ensure that the coming Governorship election isconducted peacefully.The Easter Message Reads:PRESIDENT GOODLUCK EBELE JONATHAN'S EASTER MESSAGE TO THE NATIONFellow citizens,I greet you all, especially our Christian brothers and sisters,  as wecelebrate Easter in commemoration of  the resurrection of our Lord, JesusChrist.For Christians all over the world, the major lessons of Easter, which wecelebrate this year in the midst of general elections in our nation, areto be found in the Messiah's Divine love and glorious self-sacrifice forthe redemption of mankind.This year's celebration of Easter is taking place at a period of verycritical national choices and decisions, during which we must all beprepared and willing to make sacrifices for greater unity, peace,political stability and progress in our beloved country.We must therefore seize the opportunity of the Easter holiday to reflectdeeply on what more we need to do as a people, to ensure that thepolitical process in which we are currently engaged is successfullyconcluded and that our beloved country, Nigeria continues to move towardsa better future for all of its citizens.Happily, we have already successfully scaled the hurdle of thePresidential and National Assembly Elections.  I am quite hopeful that theGubernatorial and State Assembly elections will also be conductedpeacefully.To the glory and pride of our fatherland, our collective actions sinceMarch 28 have assured the world that the democratic spirit is alive andwell in our nation.By the grace of God, our beloved nation, Nigeria is moving forward despiteall challenges.Let us all pray this Easter, that God Almighty who has brought us thisfar, will continue to bless our nation as we  march onward towards thefulfillment of our collective vision of a truly united, strong andprosperous nation.I wish you all very happy Easter celebrations.Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, GCFRPresident,Federal Republic of NigeriaApril 4, 2015
