Internally Displaced Persons, IDP in Borno state have defied all bureaucratic arrangements by government own committee to set up their own committee to receive relief materials brought to them by the Federal Government.

The IDP told newsmen in Maiduguri, the Borno state capital that, they are not part of the politics going own as the state government was said to have asked the government own committee on IDP camp not to receive any relief material brought to them by the Federal Government and former Borno state governor, Ali Modu Sheriff.

Ali Alhaji Ali, one of the committee members set up by the IDP said that as far as they are concern, they would receive any material brought to them by any person whether politician or not. "

Government is not giving us enough food, our women even nursing mothers are sleeping on bare floor but government did not want us to collect mattress and food brought to us for political reasons. If they are fighting with Federal Government or Former Governor Sheriff, we are not part of that and we would collect any assistance from anybody.

"The former governor brought food the last time he came and they said when next he came we should not accept anything from him. They said, if we collect they are going to take us back to our local government so that Boko Haram will kill us but we told them that, they are wrong. In as much as they would not provide our needs, they should not stop us from collecting from whoever deem it right to give us.

"They have lock us up in schools preventing us not to go out, but sometimes we sleep with hunger in the camps. We have now set up our own committee to collect all items meant for us, and nobody should stop us."
