APC inaugurates elected officials in Ogun state next week

All the newly elected officers of the All Progressives Congress in Ogun state, from the ward level to the State level will be inaugurated next week Tuesday in Abeokuta, Governor Ibikunle Amosun has said.

The governor who is the state leader of the party also reaffirmed that the congresses have the endorsement and recognition of the party's the National executive council.

Amosun spoke today during an emergency meeting held at the Mission to Rebuild House, Gateway Hall, opposite Presidential Lodge, Ibara Housing, Abeokuta.

The meeting was attended by all the elected officers from the wards to the State level in the just concluded congresses in the State.

Other dignitaries at the meeting include the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Hon.Suraju Adekumbi Ishola, Secretary to the State Government,SSG, Barr.Taiwo Adeoluwa, Senaror Olabiyi Durojaye, Alhaji Tajudeen Ola Bello, some Council Chairmen, Councillors, and some party faithful from across the 20 local government councils of the State.


•Amosun: says Appeal committee backs congresses
According to him,'we are here today to congratulate ourselves for all our efforts during the past congresses,especially,the last one. The Appeal Committee were here and they have done their work and the report is ready. They gave us a copy of the report and they also gave to those that sent them here.

'We have got it before the last congress,but I just decided to keep quiet, as a leader. What we should be doing is what will bring us together as one family and all what we are doing is not to send people away from the party. I have decided to keep silent and that I will continue doing.

'I can confirm to you that the Appeal Committee upheld all what we did as we followed all the guidelines and based on that, the national body has given us the mandate to go ahead and inaugurate all officers from the wards level to the State level. The National said they don't want it to be a local affairs and said they will be sending some people to inaugurate us next week',Amosun stated.

The governor,who maintained that he will continue to extend hands of fellowship to the aggrieved party members,who have been engaging in parallel congresses,declared that the party in the State, will overcome its present situation.

On why he did not make the report public, if truly,he has it, Amosun posited,'we should have gone ahead and publish the report in the newspapers,but what do we stand to gain from that? We are one party members and we should be doing things that will continue to unite us'.

The governor later appealed to journalists to excuse the party members.
