EFCC: The Seasonal Hunter

By Abdulsalam Abdulfatai

WE hardly remember that EFCC exists, since corrupt practices invade every facet of our country despite the existence of the body. Perhaps, because the striking corruption becomes custom among the political office holders, it becomes a virus difficult to terminate since it is adores by the antiviral vaccine.

It was popular news in 2013 that the body saddled with the responsibilities to wipe corruption in the country was financially impotent. In the same year, the Minister for Aviation bought cars of N250 Million, absurdly expensive; the kind presidents of many countries do not use such an expensive car. That gives the picture of how our country has fallen under the governance of 'WOBIA', the 'omo alaijoberi'. Since they are all corrupt, they convert EFCC to a seasonal hunter.

Whatever! Do you rush to court without overwhelming evidence? It is ridiculous and painful, that the body (EFCC) is failing in this manner. The ruling of Supreme Court in the case of Bode Jorge and FRN further exposes how unreliable the EFCC is where the EFCC charged an accused on an offence not known to Law? The Supreme Court quickly discharged and acquitted him and he perhaps benefited from the EFCC poor coordination.

HUNTING OF BUKOLA SARAKI

How sure are you that the sudden hunting of Sen Buola Saraki is not malicious? How are you sure that it is not engineered by your Oga at the Top? Since his personality is one of the opposition figures, since EFCC become a seasonal hunter, we are suspicious of this recent hunting of Sen Bukola Saraki.

The question the EFCC needs to answer is few, what has been its role so far in the recent NNPC $20 billion scam. Why was the body remote in the Oduaghan cars scandal? Inferably, there are people that have freedom to steal public found.

We lack confidence in EFCC, and we are of the opinion that the body be scraped until governments that really want an end to corruption come on board.
