Delta State House Of Assembly Speaker Resigns

By Christian Chinedu

The speaker of delta state house of assembly, Hon. engr victor ochei may have resigned his position as speaker in very unclear circumstances indicating he may have fallen out of favour in the political dynamics leading to the election of a governor from the north senatorial zone in delta state come 2015.

Very reliable sources claim he was forced to resign when it became apparent that majority of the house members had already signed an impeachment notice which was being circulated by a notable political figure from the central senatorial zone in the state.

With an intention to finish strong as speaker, this development, may have dealt a devastating blow to his much coveted ambition to become the next governor of delta state.

Information remains sketchy as no official statement has been made by the former speaker.

The house resumes sitting on Tuesday and the plan was to impeach him on that day.
