Anambra House of Assembly extolled Jonathan for Successful youwin promo

Anambra State House of Assembly has extolled the Federal Government on its efforts to alleviate poverty and forestall insecurity in the country through execution of various youth innovative programmes.

The Lawmakers gave the commendation while entertaining a motion brought to it by Hon. Chris Emeneka of Anambra East state Constituency who implored his colleagues to that effect noting that President Jonathan's successfully execution of Youwin promo among other innovative ventures had addressed poverty and unemployment in the country to a halt.

Hon. Emeneka, who explained that Youwinpromo is a youth innovative programme introduced by the federal government and jointly implemented by its Federal Ministry of Finance, Youth Development, Women Affairs and Information Technology, said its targets were to encourage young and vibrant Nigeria's Entrepreneurs to be productive, innovative, self reliant and employer of labour.

According to him, the agency had awarded thousands Nigerians billions of naira as each beneficiaries receives ten million naira in accordance to their separate business plans and amount requested for which ranges from one through ten million naira.

The legislators in a separate contribution also disclosed that over 30,000 jobs were created on daily basis by recipients of this promo while expanding it, even as they stressed that all citizens of the country would soon become employer of labour, thereby forestalling the search for non-existing jobs, restiveness, unemployment and insecurity.

The house further poured encomium on the federal government for affecting the lives of over 40 Anambrarians, but charged them and their counterparts nation-wide to make judicious use of the opportunity.

Hon. Romanus Obi of Orumba North; Hon. Emeka Iduu G, Onitsha North 2; Kingsley Iruba, Nnewi South 1; Hon. Valentine Ayika of Njikoka 1, and Hon John Olibie of Dunukofia constituencies maintained that the programmme came at the right time the country was yearning for modalities to be adopted so as to effectively address problem of joblessness and fraud, but also called for its sustenance, thorough monitoring and effective execution.
