APC Targets 1million Membership In Imo, As Okorocha Declares Registration Open

The Imo State Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha has charged officials

handling the All Progressives Congress (APC) membership registration to

guide against manipulation in the discharge of their duties.

Owelle Okorocha gave the charge while declaring open the APC membership

registration exercise at the Ahiajioku Convention Centre, Owerri, on

Thursday February 6, 2014.
The Governor informed Imo State Stakeholders that the registration

exercise commenced on the 5th of February 2014 in all the Polling Units,

and enjoined them to identify with the Party which portends great future

for Ndigbo and Nigerians at large. He further stressed the need for Imo

people to identify with APC to ensure continuity of free education with

305 modern primary schools, massive road construction/rehabilitation,

improved healthcare delivery, youth/women empowerment, adequate security

to lives and property, and other dividends of the Rescue Mission

Government in the State.
He assured prospective members that APC is free and fair in all its

dealings especially in selection of candidates for elections and expressed

optimism that over one million members will be registered into APC in Imo

State, but warned members against dual registration.

Contributing, the Chairman, APC Registration Committee in the State, Dr.

Alex Ibe explained that the members will be provided with temporary

Identity Cards before the State Congress comes up in March 2014.

Dr. Ibe added that only card-carrying members will participate in the

party's congress and convention, and expressed the hope that the exercise

will be a huge success.
