Kano House Speaker Resigns As APC Takes Over Assembly
BEVERLY HILLS, February 04, (THEWILL) - The Speaker of the Kano State House of Assembly, Rt.
Honourable Gambo Sallau, (PDP) has resigned from office following the defection of 26 members from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The Assembly is made up of 31 members.
In a broadcast on Freedom Radio, Kano, Tuesday, Sallau said: 'I, Gambo Sallau, the Speaker of the Kano State House of Assembly, hereby announce my resignation as the speaker.
'Now that the PDP has become an opposition party, I will not continue to be the Speaker of the House,' he said.
