BEVERLY HILLS, CA, January 27, (THEWILL) - The Delta State Police Command has, again, lost one of its officers.

A deputy superintendent of police, Anthony Jeaga, was killed by yet-to-be identified gunmen, who also took away his Toyota Camry car and abandoned his lifeless body along the expressway.

His death came a month after the Public Relations Officer of the Command was killed in an auto crash.

An impeccable source said "They killed and abandoned his lifeless body along the Agbor-Abavo Road, the expressway leading to Abraka, Ethiope East Local Government Area of the state.

" The gunmen were said to have escaped with his silver coloured Toyota Camry car with registration number AYB 88 AA.

The police officer is said to have been recently transferred from the State Police Headquarters, Asaba, the state capital, to Agbor, where he met his untimely death.

The new Police Public Relations Officer for the state Police Command, DSP Tina Kalu, confirmed the development, saying investigation into the gruesome murder had begun.

She disclosed that a suspect has been arrested in connection with the incident, stressing that the remains of the late officer has been deposited at the morgue in Agbor General Hospital awaiting autopsy examination.
