Bayelsa-govt-declares-a-3-day-mourning-in-honour-of-late-seikibo

Bayelsa State government has declared a-3day mourning period in honour of the Late President of the Ijaw socio-cultural group; Ijaw National Congress, (INC), Senator Tari Sekibo, who died on Monday, 18th of November 2013 in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.

Also, the Thank You Tour of all the eight Local Government Areas of the State earlier scheduled to commence on Wednesday, 20th November, 2013 has been shifted to Monday, 25th of November 2013.

Describing his death as sudden and a loss not only to Ijaw nation, but Nigeria as a whole, a Government statement says, his wealth of experience and contribution to the development of Ijaw nation will remain indelible.

The Bayelsa State Governor, Hon. Seriake Dickson in a statement signed by the Commissioner of Information, Deacon Markson Fefegha directed that all State flags in public buildings and places across the State be flown at half mast for three, (3) days, beginning from Tuesday, 19th of November 2013.

Burial arrangements for the Late INC leader who died in active service will be announced later by his family and the Okrika Council of chiefs while Government in consultation with the INC, family and Okrika council of chiefs will undertake the burial arrangements.

Late Sekibo will be remembered for his truthfulness, doggedness, leadership style and selfless service to the development of the Ijaw nation and Nigeria as a whole.
