The Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Anambra State, Prof. Chukwuemeka Onukogu has described APC candidate in the Anambra gubernatorial election as “one man who would want to manipulate the system.”

In a chat today with the Sahara TV monitored online, the highly respected resident electoral commissioner described the APC candidate as 'insincere,' taking umbrage at Senator Ngige's claim that the governorship election that took place in the state yesterday was marked by a low turnout of voters.

“Apart from the fact that Chris himself is not sincere, Chris is one man who would want to manipulate the system,” Prof. Onukogu observed further pointing out that “Anambra State is one state in the country where moneybags hijack the electoral system and try to manipulate the electoral system to suit themselves.”

The resident electoral commissioner however lauded the level of participation of voters in the exercise pointing out that voters' turn out this year was far better than that of year 2011.
