Chime dissolves Pilgrim Boards in Enugu

Gov. Sullivan Chime of Enugu has dissolved the Christian and Muslim pilgrims welfare boards in the state and constituted new ones.

The dissolution was contained in a statement from the Secretary to the State Government, Mr Patrick Okolo, in Enugu on Thursday.

It named Rev. Fr. John Nwafor of the Catholic Church as the new chairman of the Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board and Alhaji Salih Abugu as the head of the board for Muslims.

Other members of the Christian board include Dame Chinasa Nwebiem as Executive Secretary, Mrs Rose Onah, Mr Ifeanyi Nwonye and Mrs Cordelia Chime.

Others are Rev. Nnamdi Nsude, Dr Edwin Omer and Pastor Chijioke Nwachukwu.

The statement also listed members of the Muslim board to include Alhaji Yakubu Eneh as Executive Secretary, Hajia Salamatu Aminu, Alhaji Mohammed Onyeama and Alhaji Suleiman Haruna.

Others are Alhaji Ahmed Ugwuanyi, Alhaji Suleiman Okenwa and Alhaji Adebayo Kamorudeen.

The statement said the appointments were immediate and that hand-over must be done immediately.
