I know Tinubu, he’s not opposed to national conference – Okurounmu

By The Citizen

The Chairman of the National Advisory Committee on National Dialogue, Senator Femi Okurounmu, has said that former Governor Bola Tinubu of Lagos State and national leader of All Progressive Congress (APC) is not against the convocation of a national conference, going by his antecedents.

Okurounmo fielding questions from State House correspondents shortly after the inauguration of the dialogue committee, said the Tinubu he knows could not have opposed the conference.

He claimed that the former governor must have been misquoted.

He said, “Tinubu must have been misquoted. Tinubu has been one of the financiers  of the agitations for national conference. He funded the PRONACO conference which was held in Lagos.

“Tinubu has been at the forefront for the agitation for national conference, so the press must have been misquoting him.”

When pressed further that Tinubu indeed faulted the planned conference, Okurounmu said, “That must be another Tinubu, not the Tinubu I know.”
