Fayose's Suspension From PDP Is "Good Riddance To Bad Rubbish"—Group Insists

By Ekiti Justice Group (EJG)

A political pressure group in Ekiti State, the Ekiti Justice Group (EJG) has described the suspension of of former governor of Ekiti State, Mr Ayo Fayose, State Secretary of the PDP, Mr TKO Aluko, Woman Leader, Mrs Busola Oyebode and Publicity Secretary, Pastor Oluwawole as a right step in the right direction, saying; "The suspension is good riddance to bad rubbish."

EJG, in a release issued today and signed by its National Coordinator, Dr. Tunji Oluwasanmi noted that; "from the beginning, PDP committed a grave political blunder by re-admitting Fayose into the party."

The group, which reiterated its call for the trial of Fayose over his alleged involvement in the murder of Tunde Omojola in Ifaki-Ekiti on May 28, 2005, said; "In saner climes, no one will be seen associating with a character like not to talk of him wanting to be governor of a State."

"The reality is that Fayose is more of liability to the PDP than asset. Wherever he goes in Ekiti, he will definitely be reminded of his evil deeds when he was governor of the State and such characters are better confined to political detention.

"It even becomes more complicating when you have someone like TKO Aluko, who allegedly sold his House of Representatives mandate as Fayose's ally.

"Therefore, the decision to suspend Fayose, though strictly an internal affairs of the PDP is a welcome development to us and the entire people of Ekiti, who detest a return of the State to how it was between 2003 and 2006 that he (Fayose) was governor.

"The party must however go a step further by expelling him from the party so that sanity can fully return to the party," EJG said.
