Al-Sadd drop Afonso Alves

Qatar's league leader Al-Sadd dropped Brazilian's striker Afonso Alves from its Asian list today.

The Qatari club sent its 30-player list of the Asian Champions League to Asian Football Federation without the name of the former Middlesbrough player.

Superkoora.com can confirm that Al-Sadd is now negotiating a way-out with Afonso.

The Qatari side re-registered Agyemang Opoku in Afonso's place. The Ghanaian hitman is now with his country's national team in Angola.

“I am very pleased to be back to Al-Sadd.. I will do my best to come up to the club's expectations”, Opuko told superkoora.com from Angola.

Ironically, Afonso joined Al-Sadd 4 months back and was registered as a third professionals instead of Opuko who was not playing since Ghana's U20 World Cup 2009 victory in Egypt.
