By Anyiko PR

The acclaimed Ugandan producer Bushingtone makes his debut on Coke Studio Africa this year! He will be producing Nigerian singer Flavour N’abania and Angolan artiste of the Atchu Tchutcha fame Yuri Da Cunha on the upcoming fourth season of the show. The group of artistes are currently in Nairobi, Kenya.

Bushingtone said, "Producing Flavour and Yuri Da Cunha has been so [seamless]. They are both great vocalists, great performers on stage and perfectionists when song writing. The language barrier did not stop them from singing in each other's dialects," adding that the audience should expect to discover how well "Flavour sings in Portuguese and how Yuri sings in Pidgin," among other aspects.

Flavour said, “Many of my fans have loved my Coke Studio Africa collaborations because of my chemistry with the ladies. This time it will be different because I am working on a vibe with Yuri too, and we’re getting there.” Exclusively speaking during the recording of the show – Flavour spoke highly of Yuri: “He’s such a wonderful and talented musician. We’ve spent some great times in the studio.”

Yuri on the other hand praises Coke Studio Africa for pairing him with Flavour. He says that before his time on the show, he had been looking to connect with Flavour ever since discovering him on YouTube. “I was looking for him to feature in my album that will feature African artistes, and meeting him here has made me so happy! I didn’t expect to meet him.”

Bushingtone will also produce Waje (Nigeria), Serge Beynaud (Ivory Coast), The Kansoul (Kenya) and Lizha James (Mozambique). Other producers on Coke Studio Africa 4 will include Masterkraft (Nigeria), Madtraxx (Kenya), Maphorisa (South Africa) and Chopstix (Nigeria). Flavour also spoke about the success of Masterkraft’s song Finally that featured him and Sarkodie. “The collaboration of Finally started right here at Coke Studio Africa last year. He played me the beat in Kenya and we started performing – later in Nigeria Sarkodie came and did his verse and then boom!”

Coke Studio Africa is a non-competitive show seeking to bring together, and showcase the diversity of African musical talent. Additionally to Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Nigeria and Mozambique - the upcoming season 4 of Coke Studio Africa now includes artistes from Ethiopia, Togo, Ghana, Cameroon and Ivory Coast. The show gives upcoming artistes the opportunity to work with some of the best local and international music and production talent.

Flavour is one of Africa’s sought out artistes of our time. Known for his blend of different genres of music from Igbo life, hip hop, soul and R&B, Flavour sings in his native Igbo, English and other dialects too. His craft and style earned him the stage name “Flavour” from his fans .His hits songs include Nwa Baby Ashawo, Ada Ada and Golibe.

Yuri da Cunha is a legend to say the least. With a musical career spanning 22 years, he continues to receive recognition by winning various awards and accolades and representing Angola internationally.
