Armed Forces Remembrance Day: Unbroken Heroes 

Nigerians hailed thee,

Compatriots arose for thee,

You weeded the seed of violent,

For love to blossom with a tinge of violet.

Your slip nurtured our sleep,

From the zero hour by these heroes,

You could not snooze in the light,

For us to snore in the night.

Recall the heroics of our mothers,

Which cannot be diminished by the murder,

The earth remembers our fathers,

Though today are farther.

The heroes became the sacrificial lamb,

That the protected could be the sacred cow,

As the released pigeons personifies Peace,

Your released to eternity propels our Peace.

The labour of our heroes’ past,

Is the present that fuels our future,

Though away from our earth,

You are always in our hearts.
