Grassroot Football In Anambra: Abagana Holds Youth Unity Cup Final Today

By 3pm today, July 31, 2015, at Udoeke Primary School Playground, opposite St John’s Church, Abagana in Njikoka Local Government of Anambra State, the Final Match of the '2015 Youth Unity Cup, will be played.

The event widely applauded as one of the merits of Gov Willie Obiano’s style of governance which favours the appointment of young people into political positions, is the first of its kind in Abagana and first in the history of United Anambra Youth Assembly (UAYA).

The purpose of the 5-a-side tournament is to drive home the governor’s resolve to re-orientate and empower our youths, encourage the spirit of 'fair play' as well as promote unity amongst the youths.

The initiative of carrying out this kind of tournament was put forward by the members of UAYA (Abagana Ward 1 Chapter) in a special request to Rtn Ifeanyi Aniagoh who donated the Trophy. Ifeadinmesi.com is the sponsor of the tournament.

The Final Match between Ezi-Ube Team and Ofenochi Team will be attended by State and Local Government Officials, support organizations within and outside Anambra State, Religious Bodies, Football Stars and members of UAYA led by Comrade Chinedu Obidigwe, SA to Gov Obiano on Political Matters.

The Presentation of Trophy will be performed by the Deputy Governor of the State, Dr Nkem Okeke who is the political leader of Njikoka Local Government.

Kick off time for the final match is 3pm at Udoeke Primary School Playground, Abagana.
