The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) have confirmed that Vincent Enyeama has been pardoned and will continue as the captain of the Super Eagles.

There were initials thoughts that the NFF chiefs had planned to strip Enyeama of his role as captain of the Super Eagles after he was queried for making unguarded comments about the choice of Kaduna for last month’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Chad which the former African champions won 2-0.

Speaking to supersport.com in Abuja, chairman of the NFF Disciplinary Committee, Christopher Green said that the issue has been settled, and Enyeama will not be fined

“Enyeama is the captain of the Super Eagles, and he will continue in that capacity.

“The issue has been dealt with administratively, and I can tell you that there is no more problem as Enyeama has been forgiven for his utterances.

“He is eligible to play for the Super Eagles any day and anytime because he does not own us anything,” Green said to supersport.com in Abuja.

Enyeama is now expected to be named in the Super Eagles’ squad that will travel to Dares Salam to face Tanzania in September.
