Liberia have been told by the Confederation of African Football they can play home matches following the end of the Ebola epidemic in the country.

Caf banned them from hosting matches in July last year and the country stopped sport entirely because of the crisis.

The World Health Organisation advised Caf in written correspondence that Liberia was officially declared “Ebola Free” on 9 May 2015.

Caf then told its 54 member states that matches can again be played in Liberia.

However, the WHO advised Caf to continue to ask Sierra Leone and Guinea, who remain affected by the Ebola epidemic, to play their home matches in a neutral country.
