Tottenham midfielder Ryan Mason has been called up to the England squad to face Lithuania and Italy as a replacement for Adam Lallana.

Liverpool midfielder Lallana suffered a groin injury in his side's 2-1 defeat by Manchester United.

Mason, 23, is a regular for Tottenham and joins team-mate Harry Kane in the England squad for the first time.

Lallana's withdrawal follows injuries to squad members Fraser Forster and Luke Shaw.

QPR goalkeeper Rob Green and Jack Butland of Stoke City have been called up to replace Southampton's Forster, who has suffered a serious knee injury.

Tottenham left-back Danny Rose was brought in to replace Manchester United's Shaw, while striker Daniel Sturridge is a doubt.

Aston Villa midfielder Fabian Delph has remained at home because of illness, but is expected to join up with the squad later in the week.

England, who lead Euro 2016 qualifying Group E by six points thanks to a 100% record in their first four games, play Lithuania at Wembley on Friday before facing Italy in a friendly in Turin on Tuesday, 31 March.
