Over 100 BH Members Arrested In Benue

SAN FRANCISCO, February 05, (THEWILL) – Security agencies in Benue State have detained over 100 feared members of the terrorist group, Boko Haram, who allegedly entered Nigeria from nieghbouring Islamic countries sharing land borders with Nigeria.

The persons detained are believed to be from Niger Republic, Mali, Chad and other Islamic states.

Benue State Governor, Mr. Gabriel Suswam made the disclosure Sunday at an event tagged ‘Patron’s night’ organized by the Makurdi Club 1930.

Suswam, who urged residents of the state to be security conscious added that the foreigners would be deported as soon as possible.

Analysts believe that members of the Boko Haram have received training from terrorist groups operating in Somalia and Algeria. They are also believed to have trained in Niger.

The sect which says it wants Northern Nigeria Islamized, has attacked almost everything in sight in some cities in northern Nigeria leaving behind trails of blood, deaths and destructions.
