“IDEOLOGICAL JERRY RAWLINIZATION” THE ONLY WAY OUT OF THE AVALANCHE OF SUPERVENING CORRUPTION RAVAGING NIGERIA
His name is Jerry Rawlings. And the Country is Ghana in West Africa. Yes, Nigeria, the giant of Africa on the mouth of Nigerians, especially the political class and on the newspapers, television and radio, has to be clearly jerry-rawlinized if exiting the high-heaven corruption is to be realized. Ghanaians were cleaning gutters in Lagos and every Nigerian city to make a living. Their ladies were made to be the easiest virtue ones on earth. The reason was corruption. The political class and the corrupted military personnel were castrating Ghana, mapping the ordinary citizens to zero investment, hand-to-mouth lifestyle. Ghana was clearly uninhabitable with no hope in the horizon because the ordinary citizens could not find job, could not create job, could not get money. Government revenue was servicing government officials to the tune of 100% with none for investment and revamping the ailing economy.
Hence, only government officials who were less than 0.005% of the population ate well. Yet, Ghana was producing gold, cocoa, tea, copper and other costly minerals. Then came Jerry Rawlings. For this reason, though bloodshed is not good, the people who were calling the shots never wanted others to have a free breath of life. There was castration of everything. Rawlings then decided to do the unthinkable, but every body knew it was thinkable and a matter of few times before the bubble would burst.
Jerry Rawlings cleared them and they were buried. Today, there is no Ghanaian in the streets of Nigeria begging and cleaning gutter. Contrariwise, “the fathers have eaten raw grapes, and the children's teeth are set on edge in Nigeria. Vicissitudes of life have set in, in Nigeria. If there is any crime in Ghana now, there is more than 80% probability that it is committed by a Nigerian. Why? Because jobless Nigerians now roam the streets of Ghana looking for greener pastures. Ladies of easy virtue as Nigerians dwelling in red lights have beclouded the hemisphere of Ghana. Over here in Abuja, “women bokwu” meaning women over plenty, is the game. Abuja areas of Wuse Zone 4, Maraba, Kubwa, Bwari and the rest are hot zones of illicit sex where Nigerian ladies sell themselves to make ends meet, just as Ghanaian Ladies were involved in. Armed robbery was at its peak in Ghana just as it is now in Nigeria. Darkness covered Ghana just as outer darkness has enveloped Nigeria.
Since the cleansing of Ghana by Jerry Rawlings, Ghana has grown steadily with highly minimal corruption, less than 1%. Nigeria is the most corrupt country in the world by every stretch of the imagination, though Goodluck Jonathan, Olusegun Obasanjo, Otedola, IBB and Abdusalami Abubakar as extremely corrupt leaders would bribe Transparency International to remove Nigeria's name as the most corrupt country in the world it is by all standards, so that they would continue to loot Nigeria dry unperturbedly.
Otedola stole and finished Nigerian banks by borrowing N141 billion he utilized privately, claiming to have pumped it into his so called companies. Central Bank of Nigeria declared Otedola a 419ner and Asset Management Organization of Nigeria bought over his debt.
Yet, Otedola was given the chance to buy over NEPA-PHCN. Is Otedola not a shame to Nigeria? This is a man that stole Nigeria dry, impoverishing Nigerians in the oil cabalism. Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida IBB, stole more 12.4 billion US dollars oil windfall in 1991 apart from stealing Nigeria dry as a military President. Today, Goodluck Jonathan allowed IBB's Company: North-South Company to buy NEPA-PHCN.
Obasanjo used Privatization and Military fiat-rule to rape Nigeria. OBJ stole far more than IBB and other Nigerian Heads of State past or present. OBJ stole more than 70 billion US dollars of Nigerian money. He stole 20 billion US dollars of NEPA money which Elumelu Committee could not stop because he, Elumelu was corrupted by the “banana peel”. Today, Obasanjo has been allowed through his Transcorp to buy over NEPA-PHCN.
Elumelu of former UBA stole the money of UBA to dry bone. He covered his tracks “very well”. Has anybody asked: where did the former Managing Director of UBA get the whooping sum to buy NEPA-PHCN? Where is his company and what is it producing? How did he get the money? Which bank lent him money?
First Bank bought NEPA-PHCN. It is a Corporate Organization. This is allowed, but how did FBN get the money? Is it not depositors' money? Or, is FBN into other businesses apart from banking? Then if so, are the depositors aware officially that their money is being used to expand FBN's business empire? This is an aberration that must be questioned.
In the past, all-inclusive looters of the treasury have all gone unscathed. Yet, Federal Government claims to be fighting corruption. Which corruption? All the governors and first ladies are busy siphoning money abroad. Yet, EFCC claims it is fighting corruption.
What EFCC used in Cecilia Ibru was “Plea-bargain”. What is plea bargain? A thief is pleaded to return part and eat part. It is yet pleading with the thief. EFFC yet claims to be fighting corruption.
Tony Aneni, former works Minister stole N300 billon Eastern Nigeria Roads Money. Today, he is respected as an elder statesman. Do you know the money called N300 billion as at then? This money can eliminate poverty in more than 10 states in Nigeria. Yet, one man collected it. Yet, he is respected in the society.
Pensioners' money was stolen to the tune of more than N3 billion. Yet, the stealers are given bail by EFCC and now, the case has gone the Nigerian way: all over neatly”. Olabode George has come out of the “executive prison” where he ate sumptuously yet, no kobo was collected from him. He has settled down to enjoy his loot.
Ahmed Tinubu, as former Lagos State Governor, stole Lagos dry. He never did any job. Yet, he is claiming to wear the shoe of Awolowo in Yoruba land. Atiku Abubakar stole Nigeria dry seen from the time of customs Boss, to Shehu Yar'Adua's Second in Command, to the Vice Presidency's Privatization Exercise. Today, Atiku is a respected elder statesman.
The list is endless. I am not talking of former military-politicians who stole the junior officers' money and retired from the Military, living sumptuously. The present Governor of Abia State: T.A. Orji bought two ships to the tune of N49 billion naira and was swindled in the process. Visit Aba, the commercial nerve center of the State and you will end up “blessing him”.
Then tell me, why Jerry Rawlings of Ghana did not do well to Ghanaians in what he did? Then tell me, why Nigerians should not pray for a Jerry Rawlings to be born in Nigeria? Most Northern Governors are spending N4 million naira a day in Dubai's costliest hotel in the world. Yet, the average Northerner is abjectly and penuriously dejected and poor. Then tell me, why Jerry Rawlings should not be pleaded with to repeat the Ghana's experience in Nigeria?
Therefore, let us in all due respect, rise up and remove our caps in 100% reverence, to Jerry Rawlings of Ghana, while simultaneously we pray for Jerry Rawlings of Nigeria.
