HUMAN RIGHTS REPORT: HAUSA-FULANI ARE NOT INDIGENES OF JOS OR PLATUEAU STATE
The belief of Hausa Fulani that every where is home is from pit of hell and lie which make them foment trouble the more. A leader shall arise and solve this anomally for Nigeria. This race called Fulani is not a Nigerian race. Fulanis are not Nigerian because they migrated from present day Saudi Arabia, Sudan and Somalia. Many came from North Africa.
Both the reality of the situation now is that they are now Nigerians and we must accept them as such and find a way of living together peacefully. That way we must take cognizance of the fact that empty land is owned by somebody. No empty land that is not owned by anybody. Northern Nigeria has so much vast empty territory. You cannot go to any part of Sahara desert in Northern Nigeria all the way from Abia State or Cross River State and settle there, and claim ownership when the surrounding people of Sokoto, Katsina, Borno or Adamawa are there, for the mere and flimsy reason that it is an empty territory. No territory is without ownership in this modern world. The time of migration has ended. Unless you want more bloodshed, you cannot come from Zaria, Jigawa, Yobe, Borno, Sokoto, Zamfara, Kano and settle in Plateau or Nasarrawa or Kwara or Kogi or Benue or Taraba and claim indigenship of those places. The Constitution that does not recognize indigene separate and distinct from a settler is an aberration. You can vie for any political post as a settler in any place. You do not need to be an indigene of a place to vie for any electable post. It is not necessary. But when you want to be a traditional ruler of a place, you cannot do that as a settler. THAT IS THE ONLY DIFFERENCE AND SHOULD BE THE ONLY DIFFERENCE.
In Nigeria, Northern fringes belong to Hausas and other tribes. But because Fulanis through Utmandanfordio conquered them, they now coin Hausa-Fulani. Be that as it may, we can accept Fulanis and we have accepted them. The only thing left is to fashion a way of living together. By State Creation, already that way is defined. Hausa-Fulani have their States: Sokoto, Zamfara, Katsina, Kano, Jigawa, Bauchi, Gombe, Kebbi and Yobe. In these States, there are other tribes also. They already live together as indigenes and not settlers. These States are the lands of the nativity of Hausa-Fulanis. Outside there, they are settlers.
Hausa-Fulani are settlers in Borno, Adamawa, Plateau, Southern Kaduna, Kogi, Kwara, Niger, Benue and Taraba States. They are not indigenes of these States, and so, should not be traditional rulers. Hausa-Fulani due to islamic indoctrination are the problems of Nigeria. This deceit of islam that “everywhere is home” is the problem of Nigeria. Everywhere or anywhere cannot be home. Nigerian Constitution must correct this anomally before Nigeria can stand.
