The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the Southwest has hailed the appointment of Engr. Ezekiel Jide Adeniyi as the Chairman of the Federal Emergency Roads Management Agency (FERMA), describing the appointment as "putting a round peg in a round hole."

In a release issued by the Zonal Chairman of the PDP, Hon. Kayode Babade, the party, which congratulated the new FERMA chairman described his appointment by President Goodluck Jonathan and confirmation by the Senate as a further confirmation that the PDP led Federal Government was desirous of transforming the nation by bringing on board competent men and women to man all the strategic positions.

The PDP described Engr. Adeniyi as a professional engineer and technocrat of immeasurable experience and exposure needed to put FERMA in the breath of the transformation agenda of Mr President.

''We have assurance that Engr Adeniyi will make a better and greater impact at FERMA which will invariably affect Nigerians who commute daily on some of these deadly Federal roads.”

"We therefore congratulate the new FERMA boss and implore him to use his wealth of experience to bring succour to users of federal roads in the country," Babade said.

Calling on Engr Adeniyi to see his appointment not only as a call to serve but as a test of his personal integrity and professional competence, the PDP said; “FERMA efforts at making federal roads in the country, especially those in the South Western part that are crying motorable must be redoubled and we are confident that Engr Adeniyi is up to the task."
