For babes that only guys on brand new SUVs woo on the road and they are game and even oblige phone number for future contact, this is a surprising tale. It is a true life story based on true love found in an unusual place. The Operation Director of China Mart Limited, a Nigerian/Chinese company met his wife on foot attempting to cross the road.

For the Director, Moses Chukwuma Ezenwaka residing in Lagos State of Nigeria, the day he accompanied his friend Henry on public transport to Ikeja to buy electronics and met his wife on the way was auspicious. 'I met my wife Amaka in 2010. She was trying to cross the express with difficulty and my friend Henry quickly assisted her. 'Get her number.' I said to Henry. 'No.' he replied. 'This is the kind of person I like to be my wife. She looks good; I like her height; I have to check her character thoug.. I am going after her.' Ezenwaka recounts the tale that he obviously cherishes telling.

She was on blue jeans, red and white top and had a bag on her shoulder. I liked her dress sense, the attire fit and the choice of colour matched perfectly. As a lady, she was reluctant to give me her numbe at first. 'I am travelling”, she said evasively. 'I will call you from here. I persisted, I didn't tell her I wanted to befriend or marry her. I only said I would like to call her later. She exhausted her excuse and gave me her number. I was very happy.”

A number of auspicious things already happened that day. I saw a thousand naira note on the floor in front of Con Oil Filling Station just before we got to the express and saw Amaka. After we had assisted her to cross the express, Henry saw N700 (a N500 note and two notes of N100) on the road. It was a strange because people are not so careless in Lagos. One doesn't see money every day on the streets so I felt something very fortunate would happen that day and it did, I met my wife.

I called her in the evening and found out she had travelled to Onitsha to record her first album, 'Jesus, O Mere Ora.' I asked, 'How was your trip?' 'Fine, she replied. I was really happy that like Adam in the Bible, I had seen the bone of my bone and flesh of my flesh. Even though I'm not into women or the kind of guy that babes who have been jilted would call a player, I had a relationship like every grown up man should. The search for my missing rib had been a tortuous one although I had dated only two girls before I met my wife. I had prayed for a wife and God gave me my wife, Amaka.

Ezenwaka married his choice Amaka though she gave him tough time before she went out with him and a tougher time before saying yes to the million naira question, 'will you marry me?' 'I always tease her, 'I will retaliate all the tough time you gave me.'

For Mrs. Amaka Ezenwaka, gospel pop musician that is fast making signature tune of her gospel pop songs, 'Jesus, O Mere Ora and 'Onyemerite', the day she was crossing Ikeja express and got the assistance of two young men was just like any normal day. She did not take love advances as one of them, or Chukwuma Ezenwaka seriously. Incidentally, both of them wore a red top, the colour of love. 'My husband was wearing baggy shorts and red and white jersey. I only saw him as a handsome young man and had nothing serious about him in mind.' She muses with a smile.

He insisted on getting my number even though I was travelling from Lagos to Onitsha and Amaka gave it to him. He kept in touch while sending her recharge cards. “I returned his cards but he was not discouraged. I had a suitor in Onitsha, a businessman but I didn't like his polygamous family. I was still trying to discourage him when my husband came. He was so persistent and I was praying, God, please take these men away from me. I prayed before the Blessed Sacrament. He was not letting me rest. Even when I abused him, he would say thank you. His calls were persistent. Even when I was harsh or made jest of him, he kept laughing. I didn't like him then. I think a veil covered my eyes not to see that he was my husband. I continued praying.'

Mr Moses Chukwuma Ezenwaka wedded his heart-throb, Amaka in St Agnes Catholic Church, Maryland on May 28, 2011. They had a baby girl, Munachimso on yet another memorable day, July 10, 2011, the day that very heavy rain flooded Lagos and washed away lives and properties. The couple believe and practise the three principles of marriage- eat together, sleep together and pray together, they do everything together. “We use each other's phone, we did even while dating. I read her mails and messages and she reads mine. It is not that we don't trust each other; it is just that we are close. Since my wife uses my phone and does not see love text message from other babes, she knows her husband is faithful. I don't have time for women to distract me from building a conglomerate. I have never seen any guy's love text message on her phone. As a musician, I know she has fans. That is why I will ask her immediately who the writer is and she has to explain, if I see any love text message that is not mine on her phone.”

Mr and Mrs Ezenwaka believe that marriage is sweet, a blessing from God. Their whirlwind romance has inspired most of their friends to marry and they look forward to St Valentine's Day. 'We have converted so many of our single friends to married couple. My husband is a very kind man, he is God's gift to me and a lesson to ladies that shun guys when they walk up to them on the road and ask politely. 'Can I talk to you?' Most ladies miss their husbands this way. Some of our friends find it difficult to believe we met on the road. Henry teases my husband that he was going to come after me but he was faster. I will take him to Kuramo Beach, Silverbird Cinema and any other place he desires this Valentine, Amaka quipped.
