Eid -El Maulud: ONI URGES MUSLIMS TO PRAY FOR PEACE

Former Governor of Ekiti State, Chief Segun Oni has urge prayers for the return of peace to the country, describing the Holy Prophet Mohammed (SAW) as a prophet of peace, whose birth was a blessing to the entire universe.

Speaking through his Media Aide, Lere Olayinka, the former governor, in his goodwill message to Muslims on the occasion of the Eid -El Maulud (the birthday of Prophet Mohammed) described Islam as religion of peace, urging all Muslims in Nigeria to pray for peace to continue to reign in the country.

His words; “As our Moslems brothers and sisters celebrate the birth of Holy Prophet Mohammed (SAW), I wish to urge that the occasion is used to make supplications to Almighty Allah (SWT) for peace to continue to reign in Ekiti State in particular and Nigeria in general.

“Prayer is important at this time so that the Almighty Allah (SWT) can expose those behind the destruction of lives and properties in the country.

“I also wish to enjoin them to emulate the Holy Prophet Mohammed (SAW) by living a life of peace, honesty and sincerity.

“Also, since the birth of the Holy Prophet is a blessing to the entire universe, Muslim faithful should therefore honour Him with their dedication to the service of Allah.”
