UDUS UNDERTAKES N2BN CAPITAL PROJECTS

The Vice Chancellor of Usman Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, Professor Riskuwa Shehu says the institution has embarked on some developmental projects worth over N2 billion.

Speaking to Daily Trust, Shehu named the projects to include rehabilitation and furnishing of an auditorium, completion of the School of Medical Laboratory Science and the university's clinic.

Others according to him are, the Faculties of Pharmacy, Agriculture, Veterinary Medicine and an ultra-modern conference centre.

On staff training, the vice-chancellor said no fewer than 10 staff had been sent abroad for training.

He further said that the Agricultural Research Council of Nigeria gave the university N38 million to boost agriculture.

Professor Shehu said the grant would be used for the production of organic fertilizer. He commended Sokoto, Kebbi and Zamfara state governments for sustaining the donation of N3million monthly to the university, calling on other stakeholders to emulate the states.
