AHRC Wishes All Muslims A Blessed And Safe Eid al‑Fitr, Urges Vigilance

The American Human Rights Council (AHRC‑USA) extends its warmest wishes to all Muslims in the United States and around the world for a safe, pleasant, and peaceful Eid al‑Fitr, observed on Friday, March 20, 2026.

Eid al‑Fitr marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan, the most sacred month in the Muslim calendar.

This year’s Eid is bittersweet, with millions across the globe continuing to face deepening hardship—poverty, hunger, disease, displacement, and the devastation of ongoing wars. Yet Eid remains a day of joy, gratitude, and renewed hope for Muslims everywhere.

This year’s holiday is overshadowed by the recent Israeli‑American war against Iran, the renewed Israeli war on Lebanon, and the continued Israeli atrocities against Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank. These escalating conflicts threaten the stability of the entire Middle East and have deeply affected Arab and Muslim American communities in Michigan and across the nation. The deaths and suffering are preventable. They are the result of policy choices in the US and in Israel.

Mosques and Islamic centers throughout Michigan, the United States, and around the world will hold Eid prayers. For people of all faiths, religious holidays are a celebration of life, community, and spiritual resilience.

Given the tense political climate at home and abroad—and its impact on local communities—AHRC reminds all mosques and Islamic centers to take necessary safety precautions during Eid prayers and festivities. There is no reason for alarm, but given the state of the world today, caution is warranted.

AHRC salutes local, county, state, and federal law‑enforcement agencies for their efforts to help ensure public safety during these important occasions. We urge everyone to report any suspicious activity to the authorities. Protecting worshipers is a shared responsibility between the community and law enforcement.

AHRC continues to hope for a just and lasting peace for all. War must never be the preferred path. We pray for a world built on peace and justice, not a world broken into pieces.
