AHRC Urges Humanitarian Truce And Renewed Peace This Ramadan, Wishing Muslims A Blessed Month
The American Human Rights Council (AHRC) extends its warm greetings and best wishes for a Ramadan full of health, peace, and prosperity. Ramadan begins on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, for people of Muslim faith in the United States and across the world.
Ramadan is the holiest month in the Muslim calendar. The Islamic calendar, like the Jewish calendar, is a lunar calendar and the start of the month changes from one year to the next.
Aside from fasting, the holy month of Ramadan is a month of reflection, sharing and giving. The spirit of Ramadan reminds all people, regardless of faith, of our shared responsibility to uplift one another and to stand for human dignity.
Muslims in areas of conflict or transition; Syria, Iraq, Yemen, Libya, Sudan, Lebanon, and Palestine, face special challenges this month. We hope that Ramadan brings them peace and normal life that many in the world enjoy, and they have been denied for a long time.
One of the best ways to honor the holy month is by working tirelessly for peace, forgiveness, and reconciliation. We hope that this month will serve as another occasion to advance our commitment to building bridges of greater understanding toward human rights, global justice, and peace.
AHRC wishes all Muslims a month of peace, renewal, and compassion. May the blessings of friendship, and may our working together bring us closer to peace. Ramadan Mubarak to all who are observing the month.
“Ramadan is the month of spirituality, family and generosity,” said Imad Hamad. “Let’s not forget the less fortunate among us during Ramadan and during the rest of the year as well,” added Hamad.
