The American Human Rights Council (AHRC-USA) welcomes the recent joint statement by Israeli human rights organizations B'Tselem and Physicians for Human Rights Israel acknowledging what the Netanyahu government is doing in Gaza is a genocide. In addition, President Trump openly contradicting Netanyahu as to the starvation in Gaza. These two are important developments that make Israeli denial of genocide more clearly absurd.

This bold but necessary acknowledgment echoes the global outcry from peace-loving people demanding an end to Israel’s inhumane campaign of starvation and devastation. Despite ongoing official denials, the evidence points to a calculated effort that has led to mass suffering and death—findings that call into question Israel and the IDF's denial of genocide.

Over 60,000 Palestinians have been killed. More than 142,000 injured—many left with lifelong disabilities. Starvation continues to claim lives daily, while survivors endure irreversible organ damage. Entire segments of the population, young and old, are suffering such advanced organ deterioration that food alone can no longer reverse the damage. Starvation has become a calculated strategy to cripple a people and transform a vibrant society into one of permanent disability. This is unconscionable and unfortunately need emphasized enough.

Images of food being dropped from the sky only intensify the indignity. Palestinians in Gaza are being treated not as human beings, but as expendable—as if stranded in a forsaken jungle. Meanwhile, thousands of aid trucks are halted at the borders, barred from entry at Israeli gunpoint.

This catastrophe is met with token gestures and hollow words of sympathy. The suffering of Gaza’s civilians is unimaginable—a relentless human tragedy streamed live to a world that watches but does not intervene effectively.

AHRC urgently calls on all supporters of human rights to join hands in defense of our common humanity and demand an end to these appalling crimes. This is not just a moral duty, it is a moral emergency. Gaza’s suffering cannot be postponed. The global community must act swiftly to ensure that Gaza is flooded with aid.

Gaza’s tragedy is humanity’s tragedy. It’s our joint responsibility.
