“I Am Good And Talented At What I Do, Not Dad's Money" — Davido

Popular Nigerian afrobeats star, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido has shed light on his career in the music industry. The singer revealed that his success cannot be measured by his father's wealth, but rather by his own value.

The singer was present on the American podcast ‘Business Untitled,’ where he disclosed that people should not believe that hiss success in the music industry is down to his father's wealth, as it is not true. He stated that there are some person's who also come from richer backgrounds, but have not been able to break into the music industry, depite their parents wealth.

According to him, he said;
“There are many billionaires in Nigeria, even richer than my father… And there are people [billionaire’s children] who have tried to do what I have tried to do: music, entertainment, business. But mine has been successful because of my values.”

“The biggest challenge I had when I started music was that my father is wealthy. But I got accepted for one reason and that reason is that I am good, talented. I don’t think I would have ever been accepted if I wasn’t good at what I do.”
