Interfaith Event For Gaza Scheduled For January 24, 2024:

On Wednesday, January 24th, 2024, at 7 p.m., the Steering Committee of Friends of Sabeel -South-East Michigan will be hosting an Interfaith event entitled “Interfaith Voices for Gaza: An evening of Learning, Lamentation, and Liberation.” The event will be held at the Christ Episcopal Church located at 120 N. Military, Dearborn MI 48124.

All are welcome. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. and a small reception with refreshments will follow the program.

Speakers at the event include: *Jonathan Kuttab (Director of Friends of Sabeel North America), *Rabbi Alana Alpert of Congregation T’chiya, *Imam Mustapha Elturk from the Islamic Organization of North America (IONA) *Huwaida Arraf, Palestinian Christian Activist & Co-founder of the International Solidarity Movement, *Joshua Feinstein, Jewish Voice for Peace-Detroit and *Dr. Soraya (Layla) Saatchi, Philosopher, Middle East Historian and Assistant Professor of Teaching with the Irvin D. Reid Honors College at Wayne State University.

The call to peace and wholeness stands at the heart of our greatest religious and secular traditions. Whatever your tradition, please join us for this Interfaith gathering in which we will listen to what our traditions are calling us to do stop the killing of unarmed men, women, and children in Gaza, through calling for an immediate ceasefire and for full humanitarian aid to be let into Gaza to stop the widespread deaths due to lack of medical care, hunger, lack of shelter, lack of clean water, and disease.
