AHRC Wishes all Americans a Safe and Pleasant Labor Day Holiday and Weekend:

By American Human Rights Council (AHRC-USA)

The American Human Rights Council (AHRC-USA) wishes all Americans a safe and pleasant Labor Day holiday. Labor Day falls on Monday, September 4, 2023. Labor Day is a holiday observed in the U.S., Canada, and other industrialized nations.

AHRC salutes all the members of the labor force who have helped shape the nation’s foundation and its future. Labor built this country. The history of our country shows that protecting the human rights of workers has been a struggle. Safety regulations, overtime pay, and other regulations were devised to protect the rights of American workers. The right to a safe working environment is a human right. Labor still struggles for its rightful share and place in the new stakeholder capitalism.

Labor Day is a precious occasion for family gatherings and family reunions. It is a special time to salute and recognize all workers of all professions and all walks of life that help keep our economy strong. It also serves as an occasion to spend time with friends, neighbors, and family.

AHRC salutes all workers and thanks them for their immense contributions to this country.

While we celebrate, we should be mindful of the Covid-19 virus resurgence in a new variant. We should all follow the directives of the local, state, and federal health authorities.

“Labor Day is a reminder of the importance of Labor in society,” said Imad Hamad, AHRC Executive Director. "All workers should be paid living wages, there should be no working poor in society," added Hamad.
