AHRC Wishes All Muslims A Safe & Pleasant Eid Al-Fitr:

The American Human Rights Council (AHRC-USA) extends its warm wishes to all Muslims for a safe and pleasant Eid Al-Fitr marking the end of the holy month of Ramadan, the holiest month in the Muslim calendar. Eid comes after a month of fasting and reflections. Muslims around the world will celebrate Eid Al-Fitr on Friday, April 21, 2023.

Eid Al-Fitr is one of two major Muslim holidays. The other is Eid Al-Adha (Feast of the Sacrifice). Eid El-Adah marks the end of the annual pilgrimage to Mecca. Celebration of these holidays is a celebration of the gift of life and faith.

The Islamic religious injunction is to celebrate religious holidays despite personal, social, or political challenges. This Eid is marred by the Israeli violence against the Muslim worshippers in Jerusalem. The Al-Aqsa Mosque Compound Sanctuary has been subject to ongoing Israeli police and settlers’ violence and relentless attacks. AHRC joins all peace- loving people demanding an international intervention to protect the occupied Palestinians in Jerusalem and the occupied territories.

AHRC reminds all Mosques and Islamic Centers of the importance of taking all the necessary safety precautions and measures during the mass prayers festivity. AHRC commends federal, state and local law enforcement agencies for their vigilance and assistance in making sure all Michiganders can celebrate their occasions freely and safely.

“We wish all Muslims a happy and blessed Eid-Al-Fitr," said Imad Hamad, AHRC Executive Director. “We hope and pray that by next Eid Al-Fitr peace and justice will be the reality in the Holy Land and across the world," added Hamad.
