The American Human Rights Council (AHRC-USA) extends its best wishes for a safe and pleasant 4th of July holiday. July 4th 1776 is America’s Independence Day. July 4th was made a national holiday in 1870.

Perhaps one of the most famous lines of the Declaration of Independence says: “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights that among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness”. We hope that this Independence Day will serve as a reminder for all that America is a nation of immigrants and people in pursuit of the American dream.

The 4th of July day is a special day on which we celebrate not only independence from Britain but the American values and core principles as well that serve as the foundation of the country. Americans are not united by blood or descent; they are united in commitment to the American Creed- American core values. While the US has often fell short of its ideals, the country is always reinventing itself to be a better version of itself.

AHRC invites everyone to mark this day as an occasion to celebrate our rich diversity and the values of unity and coexistence.
