NIGER STATE: Governor Sani Bello's Administration To Complete Almost 20 Years Abandoned Federal Electrification Project

Governor Abubakar Sani Bello of Niger State has directed the Niger State Electricity Board to immediately take-over the abandoned almost 20 years Federal Electrification Project of Dangana-Gulu and Muye towns in Lapai Local Government Area of the State.

Gov. Bello ordered the contractor to immediately move back to site and ensure speedy completion of the project in the interest of his citizens.

The General Manager of the Niger State Electricity Board Dr. Garba Aliyu made the disclosure in Minna on Monday. He said the Governor gave the directive has part of "his promises to ensure steady and even distribution of Electricity to all Rural Areas in the State".

The MD further stated that, since the inception of the Present Administration in the State, over 100 different types of transformers have been distributed to various villages and fully installed with additional 32 to be distributed to benefiting communities very soon.

He revealed that, so far, apart from linking Beji town to the National Grid, Kusherki Town has also been connected to the National Grid, while the on-going electrification projects in Katcha, Agwara are in there 100% completion stage while appealing to Nigerlites to be patient with the present administration, regarding electrification projects.

The MD assured Nigerlites that "electrification promises made by Mr. Governor will be fulfilled gradually, IN SHA ALLAH".

Engr. Dr. Garba Aliyu also used the medium to charged Nigerlites to double their vigilance regarding transformers, cable wires and other electrification equipments' from vandals who are out there to sabotage Government efforts and resources pumped in for the benefit of Nigerlites.
