Distance learning: ABU begins e-MBA

Ahmadu Bello University, ABU, Zaria, has launched online distance learning for Masters in Business Administration, MBA, which affords students anywhere in the world the opportunity to receive lectures via customised tablets or Dual Universal Serial Bus, USB, sticks on smart phones or personal computers.

Speaking at the launch, the Director of Distance Learning, DLI, Professor Adamu Hassan, said the walls of limitations occasioned by distance and other contingencies had been broken.

According to him, 'the walls of limitations have been hacked down in the world of distance learning, which Ahmadu Bello University is bringing into the educational landscape.'

Vice Chancellor of the university, Professor Ibrahim Garba, represented by his Deputy (Administration) Professor Ibrahim Sada, assured aspiring students for the MBA programme not to be afraid regarding the authenticity of the programme.

He said: 'This is the same degree, same ABU and it has been accredited by National Universities Commission, NUC.'

The programme is in partnership with companies as Jobberman and Accenture.

According to the institution's authorities, Jobberman will assist students with special offers that range from internship placements, CV re-writes and job opportunities, while

Accenture will supply capstone projects and internships for students.
