Nigerian Doctor Nominated By World Medical Association For United Nations Climate Change Conference In Morocco

Exceptional Nigerian Doctor was nominated as a delegate by World Medical Association to UN Climate Change Conference in November 2016, he is Dr. Gbujie Daniel Chidubem, the current Junior Doctors of Africa (JDA) Regional Executive Director/Coordinator for West Africa.

He is an outstanding young, ambitious and friendly doctor currently based in Rivers State,Nigeria. An international multiple award winner in 2015.

He was nominated and confirmed by the World Medical Association (WMA) as one of the 8 delegates going to the United Nations Climate Change Conference billed for 7th-19th November, 2016.

This yearly conference holds under the platform of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).

The final list of confirmed participants was released at the World Medical Association (WMA) headquarters in France.

WMA is the global federation of National Medical Associations of various countries including Nigeria, WMA represent millions of doctors worldwide. WMA also act on behalf of patients and physicians.

All names of the 8 delegate have been forwarded to the United Nations and their invitations have been posted.

Dr. Gbujie who works in Rivers State with a Federal Government Tertiary Hospital Choba, UPTH. He is a seasoned union leader believed to be one of the finest minds to have come out of Africa.

He comes highly commendation, Daniel Gbujie is an Associate Member of WMA and a worthy “Ambassador” of Nigeria and Africa.

He is able to reach out effectively to address his audience on a lot of health issues , General issues within his countryand brings convincing arguments.

He is a determined young man, engaged, well grounded in research and proud to stand for an African perspective.

Daniel will be a good investment in the future of health care in Nigeria. Individuals like him can make the country stronger and more equitable.

The UN Conference tagged “Marrakech Climate Change Conference”, is the twenty-second session of the Conference of the Parties (COP 22). The 12th session of the Conference of the Parties serving as the meeting of the Parties to the Kyoto Protocol (CMP 12) will be held in Bab Ighli, Marrakech, Morocco from 7-18 November 2016.

The effects of climate on health will also be discussed at the UNFCC Conference with WMA delegates contributing their association position on the effect.

Gbujie will be the only African in this year’s delegation to the UN event from the World Medical Association. He has also been invited to Taiwan for the WMA World Health General Assembly in October 2016.

He has made Nigeria and Africa proud. The government should find ways to encourage young men like him who are scattered all over the continent of Africa.
